The "Where Bloggers Create" tour that began yesterday was so much fun. After I’d seen everyone’s space, I had the urge to rearrange my garden room bookshelves, put all the books back up, and dust. Whew! The dust bunnies! But it makes me take a look at books I have that I’ve forgotten about and haven’t read yet. Note to self: Read more books before you buy new ones!

The bookshelves were in an L-shape before in the same spot in the corner. I simply put them side by side.

When I was a little girl, some of my best memories were of going to the public library in our small town in Oklahoma. I began there my lifelong love of the written word and books. I always admired the long library tables. Of being able to gather some books and sit down to skim through them before making my selections of four books per visit. I don’t have room, obviously, for a long table. So I made due with this smaller one. My "mini-library!"

I want to thank everyone who participated for contributing to our tour. And I will be updating the list throughout the month of August, which ends Sunday the 31st. So if you still want to "show your space," put up the badge (if you so desire) and email me your blog site link. Or simply leave me a comment here with your information. I’ve updated the list below for today, Monday. And this time I’ve added their websites alongside. I thought this way, if you so choose, you can simply print out the list and not have to keep coming back to this site to click through and go visit them.

  1. This is a wonderful tour, Brenda. Thanks for going to all the trouble to do this.. It is totally fascinating to see every one’s creative spot.

I just pull up notepad and paste everyone’s URL there and leave it up in the background. Then just copy and paste from there, when I need the next blogger. Works for me.

  3. Hi Brenda,

Sounds like it was a fun thing to do. I will have to get around to all of these blogs.

I wish you were the right Brenda. I can’t seem to get hold of the Brenda that won the prize on my blog giveaway.

    Thanks for visiting,

    Rosemary

  4. Brenda, You’re a precious gem for taking the time to care for all the details, while the rest of us just sit back and read! Thanks a million!

  5. This is such a beautiful post, Brenda. I love your your library. I don’t have a big collection as I’m not really a reader (I’m more of a skimmer and loves pictures) but I keep my eyes peeled for a good bookshelf. It really makes the house looks complete!

Thanks for your motherly hugs and sweet comments about Joe.

I really enjoyed peeking at everyone’s space !

  8. I discovered in viewing the sites on the tour that I am a bookshelf addict. My eyes go there first. Like you, as a child I used beloved libraries. I have decided now, too, that I have gotten rid of enough of my books for moving. No more!

  12. The list of addresses was very helpful–thanks, Brenda! I love your library! And check out those quilts! What pattern is the one by the bed? Speaking of which, I love your cozy bed area! What a great area to curl up with a good book! I have very fond memories of going to the library as a child also! Our limit was 4 books, too! Ours was on the 2nd floor above the police station & I remember it being a long walk up those stairs for a litte girl! Patti

  18. I love your new library and table. I do that sometimes at home. I’ve read every book on my shelf but when I want to start a new one, I’ll look a few over and decide what to read.

Thanks again for orchestrating the tour. I’ve met some wonderful new people I might never have known.

  23. Brenda, I love your library area. We are also book lovers. Our kitchen, as you’ve seen has multiple shelves of cookbooks and in the upstairs landing, we have many more books. The hardest books to pass on, were the childrens books that filled our shelves for so many years.
